COLORS OF LIGHT
LIGHT CAPTURED ON CANVAS, LIGHT CAPTURED IN FORM
Color and light are inseparable! In the absence of light, the world is colorless. Art has historically captured light in a variety of ways, from gold leaf haloes on Byzantine icons to brightly colored oils in Renaissance art. While color is a critical way to capture light in painting, it serves even a greater purpose in art in general. Having the power to affect moods and elicit emotions, color is considered the most expressive element of art.
Hanna Klopotowska and Frantisek Jungvirt are but a few of the creators currently experimenting with color and we have a great pleasure to show their work at RHY ART SALON BASEL.
