LUKAS HOUDEK
Lukas Houdek graduated from UMPRUM, the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague. He is celebrated today for his humor-infused glass creations, which are instantly recognizable for their remarkable lightness—achieved despite the inherent seriousness of glass as a medium.
Lukas Houdek seamlessly transitions between freeform art and design, embracing both innovative approaches and classic techniques to push the boundaries of glassmaking. His work often explores themes of pop culture and parody, blending humor with the overlap of design and fine art. After his studies, Lukas Houdek worked at Moser before joining his family’s HG Atelier, founded by his brother Filip in 1998, where they design bespoke lighting for private residences. He also collaborates with designer Yulin Huang, currently with Lasvit, on unique glass objects.
