PLOPP, the iconic air-inflated metal stool by a renowned Polish designer Oskar Zieta is a high-end contemporary take on a classic household stool. Its intriguing toy-like form defies the rules of geometry and is a spectacular expression of the designer's long-lasting fascination and studies of the properties and potentials of metal. PLOPP stands for "Polski Ludowy Obiekt Pompowany Powietrzem" and is understood as Polish folk air-pumped object. It is stunning proof that the creative and artistic aspects of the design can be enclosed in a highly advanced engineering form. The unique fun-looking shape of PLOPP is a result of an innovative forming method called FIDU technology. This allows free deformation of metal, hence each object made using this method is one of a kind. Forms made in FIDU are lightweight but also very durable for the best of both. Since its release in 2010, PLOPP has won many awards including the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2008, the German Design Council Award 2008 and the Forum AID Award 2009.
